We provide a space that is inclusive and accepting of all individuals. We know it can be difficult to seek help for your child from a mental health professional and that working on personal, private issues can cause vulnerabilities. We are passionate about providing a place where you never have to wonder if you and your child will be understood, cared for, and treated with respect and dignity. Additionally, our services are offered in a welcoming, home-like setting that provides a comfortable and safe feeling for children and families.
Our therapists are licensed clinical counselors and social workers specializing in trauma-informed therapy and working with young children. We have extensive experience working with children who have experienced stressful life events and trauma such as abuse, neglect, witnessing violence in the home or community, separation from or loss of their parent or primary caregiver, and other tragic events. Additionally, we are highly trained and skilled in providing a variety of evidence-based therapeutic and trauma-informed practices including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Flash Technique, EMDR-Sandtray Therapy, Structured Sensory Interventions for Traumatized Children, Adolescents and Parents (SITCAP), Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Our staff also includes therapists who have undergone advanced training to become EMDR-Sandtray Specialists allowing them to provide a unique specialized trauma therapy to children. In addition, we work closely with caregivers throughout treatment to maintain a strong focus on family and to maximize the positive impact therapy can have on the child.
Our services strengthen young children's social and emotional development by addressing essential factors that influence this development. We work to enhance the child-caregiver relationship, assist caregivers in providing nurturing, supportive, safe, and secure environments, and help caregivers learn to manage intense emotions and challenging behaviors. We also focus on helping young children increase their resilience and protective factors while identifying risk factors that compromise a child’s success. Early intervention is key to helping children grow, develop and thrive to their fullest potential.
